Man City boss Roberto Mancini focuses on Man Utd clash
Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini says he will only think about transfer window additions after their Carling Cup semi-final with Manchester United.
City face United in the first leg at home on Wednesday live on BBC One, amid reports they will spend big in January.
The Italian said: "We can talk about other things after the derby - at the moment the most important thing is our match against Manchester United.
"But it is normal that so many players want to join Manchester City."
He added: "That situation is normal because Man City is a big club which is going to have a big future.
"People are talking about Patrick Vieira, they are also saying Ivan Cordoba and Christian Chivu, and they are all very good players.
"But right now, we have two games to focus on and if we play well then we have the chance to play a final at Wembley.
"This season, if it is possible, we can win a trophy. As for the rest - we will see after the derby."
Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson, meanwhile, is expecting his players to produce a far superior performance to the one that saw them dumped out of the FA Cup by Leeds.
United lost in the third round for the first time in Ferguson's 23-year tenure with a 1-0 defeat to the League One side at Old Trafford on Sunday.
Ferguson warned: "We have to get this result out of our system as quickly as possible. We have a semi-final on Wednesday and a lot of those players won't be playing.
"You have to view this performance in the right light, but we'll make sure we're ready for Wednesday now.
"We had a team in mind for the game, but there will maybe be a few changes for that."
